British Made: Hambleside Danelaw, innovators for over 40 years

Hambleside Danelaw are committed to researching and developing products that maintain the company’s reputation for quality and excellence. We have a series of robust and thorough procedures which we follow whenever we are designing a new product. Our processes allow for new innovations and products such as our hugely popular InVerg® (GB patent number: 2586153) and the recently launched MidVerg20™ to enhance the industry.

Attention to detail is a key part of our success. We plan and task all key project aspects and environments where the new product would likely be used. We research the marketplace to establish the product scope and opportunity for use. The design process must consider and incorporate these requirements as well as the functionality and serviceability of the end product. In the early project stages, we establish the cost effectiveness and the commercial viability of the product, while evaluating and planning the product’s route to market. All of these stages are vital to ensuring high quality and functionality of the end product.

During the course of our research we develop a detailed understanding for the product requirements, while evaluating different methods to achieve these requirements. Depending on the product application or use, we consider factors such as: weathering and UV exposure, environmental impact, as well as installer practicalities including safety, material suitability, tooling costs, packaging, in-house or independent testing as required, in-service use, and finally end-of-life disposal. For example, our Insulator core for Zenon rooflights is made from recycled wood pulp and is fully compostable at the end of its service life.

Recently we have invested in a 3D printer which allows for further testing and progress. With plans in the pipeline for more innovations, our research and development team can expect to be busy right through to 2022! So keep an eye out for new Hambleside Danelaw products.

We take great pride in the quality of the products we design and manufacture. To ensure we deliver this quality consistently, our projects follow BSI audited procedures to ensure that each phase of the project from design to manufacture is properly planned, assessed and kept on track.
