International architecture and design practice FaulknerBrowns is marking four years since establishing its dedicated Dublin studio, coinciding with continued growth in team size, a move to a new office space in the heart of the city on Fitzwilliam Street Lower, and an expanding portfolio of significant Irish commissions.
With project delivery in Ireland spanning more than 20 years, the opening of the FaulknerBrowns Dublin studio in 2022 marked a significant step in deepening that long-term commitment. Since then, the practice has strengthened relationships with Irish clients across government, sport, education, housing and regeneration sectors. During this period, FaulknerBrowns has secured strategic appointments on key frameworks supporting the long-term delivery of civic and community infrastructure.
Current FaulknerBrowns projects in Ireland include The Guinness Quarter, Sport Ireland Campus Masterplan, and Irishtown Leisure Centre, reflecting the practice’s experience across large-scale masterplanning, placemaking and community sport. Projects on site include the National Cricket Centre, the National Velodrome and Badminton Centre and Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, highlighting the Irish studio’s growing role in delivering complex public and commercial schemes.
Established in 1962, with studios in Newcastle, Dublin, Vancouver and Dubai, FaulknerBrowns is recognised for creating buildings and places that act as catalysts for sustainable communities. The practice’s work is underpinned by rigorous design thinking, strong delivery capability and a focus on long-term value, combining international expertise with strong local knowledge and long-standing relationships. FaulknerBrowns says its priority in Ireland remains deepening its local presence, continuing to invest in Irish-based people and capability, and supporting clients through complex, long-term programmes in sport, education, housing, regeneration and placemaking. “Ireland is a core part of our business. Our Dublin studio allows us to work closely with clients, local authorities and project teams, while
drawing on the wider technical strength of our international practice. That combination of local insight and broader scale is increasingly valuable as Ireland continues to invest in long-term public and community infrastructure.”
– Niall Durney, Dublin Studio Partner, Architect AIA
“Our team in Dublin is deeply embedded in the Irish context, from planning and procurement to understanding the everyday challenges
facing our clients and communities. We’ve grown the studio, built strong local relationships and developed a way of working that is collaborative, responsive and rooted in place. Operating in Ireland allows us to design and deliver projects that genuinely reflect community needs, while benefiting from the wider experience of the practice.”
– Aisling Cleary, Senior Associate, Architect MRIAI
