Reynaers sponsors ‘A New Era of Energy Efficient Buildings’ white paper

A new white paper, titled A New Era of Energy Efficient Buildings, has been sponsored by Reynaers Aluminium.

The report focuses on the current level of understanding of architects and the challenges they face in meeting the latest Part L, Part O and Part F of the Building Regulations.

The regulations have primarily been introduced as a way to make homes more thermally efficient, while ensuring overheating does not become an issue and that adequate ventilation is in place.

While the need to cut the carbon footprint of the built environment is widely acknowledged, it is also accepted that the implementation of the changes has presented challenges across the construction industry.

In ‘A New Era of Energy Efficient Buildings’, Architects Datafile surveyed architects to gauge their current understanding of these regulations to build a more complete picture of the barriers to compliance they face in building design.

In the design of buildings, it is essential to cut carbon emissions in support of global efforts to reach net zero and the survey underlines the importance of good knowledge and communication in ensuring a wide understanding of how best to design and build energy efficient buildings.

Richard Jekiel, National Consult Manager at Reynaers Aluminium, says: “Over the past 12 months, we have been working closely with our network of architects and façade consultants on how the latest revisions to building regulations impact on design with our windows, doors and curtain walls. We have also been actively promoting how our systems are fully compliant with the latest regulations and where we are in our journey to further revisions in 2025.

“The report clearly outlines an industry requirement for further assistance in overcoming the barriers to compliance. We’re always happy to help and offer a bespoke service where required. We can also run a range of CPDs, which we’d be happy to follow up with Q&As on regulations and compliance.”
