Construction and Fit-Out specialists Willmott Dixon Interiors have announced their new initiative to advance sustainable practices and reduce their environmental footprint. As part of their ongoing ‘Now or Never’ sustainability campaign, the company aims to completely eliminate single-use plastics and unnecessary waste from their operations by 2030.
The latest move involves the complete eradication of plastic cartons from their offices, in favour of more sustainable alternatives such as glass milk bottles. By making this transition, Willmott Dixon Interiors estimates that they will save approximately 6,000 single-use plastic items annually. This change marks another milestone in their sustainability journey, adding to the 19 other single-use plastic items already eliminated from their offices. Items such as plastic bottles, cups, stirrers, and spoons have been replaced with eco-friendly alternatives.
The success of Willmott Dixon Interior’s ‘Now or Never’ campaign, following its launch in 2020, is evident through the company’s innovative reuse of timber pallets. Willmott Dixon Interiors work to repurpose over 20,000 pallets across their sites each year, effectively diverting approximately 4,500m3 of waste from landfills. This sustainable practice sets a powerful precedent for their ongoing efforts to create a more environmentally conscious business model.
To achieve their ambitious sustainability goals, Willmott Dixon Interiors is actively collaborating with suppliers, clients, and employees. Their attitude towards sustainability has fostered an engaged and passionate workforce, committed to collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
As a pioneering force in the construction industry, Willmott Dixon Interiors seeks to set new standards for sustainability. Through strategic partnerships and continuous innovation, they aim to lead the way towards a greener and more sustainable future for the entire sector.
