Soprema is a global company with a wide-ranging portfolio of projects for which we have provided solutions, expertise and added value. One such application is the use of membranes to waterproof basements in both commercial and residential buildings.

There are many different reasons when you should be waterproofing a basement?

  1. Grade 1 or 2 with no permanent water – you may use a drainage alone or waterproofing system depending of the requirement of the internal environment = treatment only of the buried walls.
  2. Grade 3 with no permanent water – you must use a waterproofing system for the buried walls and the bottom slab is waterproofed if there is no sanitary space.
  3. Grade 3 – In grade 3 environment a cavity drain membrane to be included at all levels in accordance with BS 8102
  4. Grade 1, 2 or 3 with permanent water – you must use a full waterproofing system for all the structure = basement waterproofing.

We offer a range of competitive solutions:

  • Physical Barrier – Geocomposite, loose laid membranes, bonded membranes cementitious renders, liquid waterproofing systems
  • Structural Integral – Add mixtures to treat the concrete
  • Drain Protection – Geocomposites with preformed cavities, geocomposites with grids, designed open cavities
  • The dedicated basement products range includes PVC and TPO membranes, bituminous membranes and the bonded membrane Colphene BSW, which has recently been awarded a BBA certification for both post applied and pre-applied membranes.
