Which type of flooring is better for your home and why?

While decorating a house, everyone selects the best interior and tries their best to make their home as ravishing as they can. The choice of interiors, paints, colour schemes, and decoration items is done with care, but ignorance towards flooring can leave you with regret because no one wants a house with unappealing flooring.

It is not easy because there are numerous things to be taken into consideration like durability, cost, appearance, and resistance against weather and wear and tear. So do homework before determining what is better for you. Some considerable options are:

Hardwood flooring

Wood flooring is made of natural wood and is considered to be the most prominent option for covering the floors because of the natural yet exquisite finish that it grants to your home and stays durable for a longer duration. It can be costly but the durability does not make it a flaw. It can be refurnished up to 5 times to bring back the shine and remove scratches so it does not have to be replaced soon. It is easy to clean.

But it has to be installed according to the climate because exposure to moisture as it may damage the wood.

Laminate flooring

Your home has a grey colour scheme and the wooden floor does not look nice with it so opt for grey laminate flooring which has wood on its base joined with resin. The top is laminated with a hard and translucent plastic coating that covers a layer of the design surface. It comes in a variety of colours and designs that you can select according to your choice.

Its laminated surface makes it easy to clean and scratch-resistant and it can fake the look of wood or stonework at a lesser cost.

Vinyl flooring:

Vinyl flooring is made up of artificial fibreglass which is covered with PVC vinyl or plasticiser. Because of the synthetic material, it is versatile to be used, even in high traffic areas like the kitchen or washroom without a threat of being damaged because of moisture. These are available in different colours and designs to mimic the stone, ceramic, or wood appearance.

Ceramic tile flooring

Ceramic tiles are made of a mixture of clay and shale. This is a durable preference to be used anywhere in the house whether a living room, washroom, kitchen, or entrance because they are invulnerable to scratch and moisture. They are easy to clean and available in a wide range of colours, shapes, and designs because of modern printing technology that gives a unique finish to the home. But the quality has to be chosen efficiently for flooring as they have to bear a lot of weight.

Carpets

Carpeting is done by nailing down the carpets from wall to wall. An additional layer of padding can also be done on the floor beneath the carpet to provide extra cushioning. Materials like wool, polyester, nylon, and acrylic make the flooring soft.

But carpets are the most difficult to clean and regular vacuuming damages the fibre of carpets.
