Spiral UK go from strength to strength with recruitment drive

Spiral UK design manufacture and install beautiful custom-made staircases for residential, commercial, fit out and escape markets in both new build and renovation or refurbishment settings.

During the pandemic, it has been hard to know what to expect, what to do to keep things running smoothly or how to offset losses from lack of sales or staff. As a manufacturing company Spiral UK were thankful to be allowed to continue operating almost as normal. They’ve made many changes to the daily working practices to keep everyone safe including social distancing and investing in PPE equipment, but as the construction industry has remained open throughout the past year of lockdowns, the machines haven’t stopped running.

Regardless, every business has had to prepare for the worst, with uncertainty rife and goalposts changing every few weeks. Spiral UK has noticed a shift in customer type, with commercial office renovations stepping back and luxury residential projects bubbling up – it seems that plenty of people are using their enforced time off well, cracking on with home improvements and projects they didn’t have time for before including building new build homes and major renovations – good news for this national supplier of bespoke staircases.

To be able to grow and keep up with customer expectations, Spiral UK have been able to offer new employment opportunities, where other companies may have been scaling back in the current economic climate. They’ve recently taken on not one but two new Design Engineers to work in their design office. These new employees will be using the CAD program Solidworks to create 3D models of the staircases they design on an individual, bespoke basis. This will help the Sales Team keep up with demand from new enquiries by providing costed designs with visual renders to translate what is in the customer’s head into a drawing.

Spiral UK are also recruiting for more welder-fabricators to transform the drawn designs into physical structures on the factory floor. New recruits will join a skilled team of time-served labourers operating the state-of-the-art CNC machine and pouring concrete, fabricating everything from small but perfectly formed spiral escape stairs to enormous, factory-filling staircases destined for high end central London developments, and even the artist steps for The Royal Albert Hall!

With all these changes, Spiral UK are proud to be on track to finish the year with growth in all areas and are looking forward to a very busy 2021.
