With the new changes to Part L of the Building Regulations set to come into effect in June 2022, leading aluminium fenestration solutions provider Senior Architectural Systems is ahead of the game thanks to its patented PURe® window system which can already achieve U-values as low as 0.71W/m2K.
The unique construction of Senior’s PURe® window, which features a high performance expanded polyurethane (PUR) thermal barrier, gives the PURe® system exceptional thermal performance that far exceeds the new lower U-value targets which were confirmed at the end of 2021.
As well as offering exceptional thermal efficiency, Senior’s PURe® windows can also offer both specifiers and fabricators the reassurance of working with a tried and trusted system which has gone on to be used on various projects across the sectors since its launch in 2015. Developed to be easy to fabricate, install and maintain, Senior has also developed its PURe® range to offer exceptional design flexibility, with a number of different window styles and configurations available that each achieve compliant low U-values when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window.
Competitively priced and with no special tooling required, the PURe® aluminium window has already been widely specified on both education and large-scale mixed-use developments where the need to reduce carbon emissions and improve efficiency is paramount.
The attractive slim aluminium frame of Senior’s PURe® window system also makes it ideally suited for use in residential schemes and to meet the new requirements of the pending Future Homes Standard. Set to be introduced in 2025, the new Future Homes Standard will require all new build homes to embrace low carbon heating and achieve high levels of energy-efficiency.
Commenting, Senior’s sales director James Keeling-Heane said:
“The development of our PURe® aluminium window system has been a real game changer as rather than having to quickly react to the regulatory changes, we are confident that we have a reliable and high-performance solution that has been tested on real-life projects over the last seven years. That has given us plenty of time to refine and expand our product offering to be able to offer a wide range of aluminium window styles and complementary commercial and residential doors that all exceed the current and pending U-value targets.”
“We know that main contractors, architects and our trade customers will want to hit the ground running when the changes to Part L come into effect in the summer and we believe our established PURe® system is the perfect way to help reduce the learning curve and achieve compliance from day one.”
