Senior brews up a storm for Thwaites

High performance aluminium curtain walling and doors have been used to create an eye-catching façade for the new head office and brewery facility for Thwaites.

The creation of a new two-storey office building, alongside the refurbishment of listed stable buildings to house Thwaite’s famous shire horses, has seen the leading brewery firm relocate from Blackburn to set up a new home in Ribble Valley in Lancashire. Designed by Campbell Driver architects, the fenestration package for the new office building has been fabricated and installed by Aire Valley Architectural Aluminium Ltd for main contractor Barnfield Construction.

Combining slim sightlines with enhanced thermal performance, Senior’s popular SF52 curtain walling has been used to create the attractive entrance to the new facility and to maximise the flow of natural light into the interior spaces. The sleek aluminium frame of Senior’s SF52 system perfectly complements the attractive building envelope design, which comprises charred vertical timber, zinc cladding and natural stone, and helps to create a sense of symmetry across the front elevation.

The new HQ for Thwaites also benefits from the use of Senior’s high performance SPW500 aluminium doors and is the latest contract to be completed as part of Senior’s positive working relationships with supply chain partners Aire Valley Architectural Aluminium Ltd and Barnfield Construction.
