In August 2022 Steve Harrison, Resapol’s Northern Divisional Sales Manager, visited a site to recommend products for an extensive roof renovation in Leigh, Greater Manchester. It was identified during the initial site visit that a number of criteria needed to be met; a high performance, fast-track system that offered excellent adhesion and easy application was required.
The Resapol Leigh depot technical team immediately thought of Mapei as the ideal manufacturer. Their range of waterproofing membranes stand out as really versatile and typically come as ‘ready-to-use’. They are also rigorously tested and backed up by extensive research and development, so they provide a guarantee of durability, quality and environmental sustainability for the construction’s themselves.
After conducting a further site visit with Mapei’s Phil Graham, the client chose to go ahead with Mapei’s Purtop Easy roofing system. Purtop Easy is a one-component, elastic polyurethane membrane with a coloured finish typically utilised for waterproofing both new and existing balconies, terraces, roofs and areas with pedestrian access. It can be applied on concrete, cementitious screeds, ceramic, fibre-cement boards, old bituminous membranes and metal. Highly elastic and exceptionally durable, the membrane is equally easy to apply either horizontally or vertically using a brush, roller or trowel. Once applied, it guarantees substrates are fully impermeable and resistant to standing water, root penetration, foot traffic and temperatures from -40°c to +80°c.
Once specified Resapol arranged fast delivery, direct to site where Elite Construction & Property Services Group successfully completed the project within just three days.
