Proshield®: The Self-Adhesive, Airtight Membrane Innovation for Modular & High-Rise

Featuring a fully self-adhesive backing, Proshield® eliminates the need for primers or mechanical fixings. This makes installation faster and simpler while creating a strong airtight envelope across walls, floors and roofs.

Proshield® empowers architects to achieve airtightness in modular and high-rise construction simply and effectively. This brand-new membrane weighs 270 g/m². One of its key characteristics is its three-layer structure, featuring an adhesive coating on one side and a silicone-coated PET release liner.

Proshield® stands out from conventional membranes by eliminating the need for primers or additional fixes. It adheres seamlessly to a variety of substrates, including OSB, steel, gypsum board, concrete, aluminium and wood. This adaptability makes Proshield® ideal for use in offsite and high-rise construction. It combines straightforward installation with high tensile strength and makes a significant contribution to a building’s overall performance and longevity.

Don & Low’s new self-adhesive membrane comes in a distinctive bright blue colour and has a printed grid design for easy cutting and alignment to further simplify the installation process. It is also supplied with matching Proshield® tapes and corners in a variety of widths, which are designed for use around openings such as windows, doors and corners to prevent air leakage.

Proshield® adds an extra barrier against moisture penetration, ensuring the building’s long-term durability, which is particularly important when dealing with the elements during construction phases. Placed on the outside of a structure, Proshield® acts as a water-resistant and airtight barrier, whilst still allowing water vapour to escape. Using Proshield® lessens the risk of condensation, mould development and structural damage. It improves thermal performance as well, especially when used in conjunction with Don & Low’s reflective membranes.

Proshield® is engineered to meet all necessary safety standards, carrying a Class W1 rating for water penetration. When adhered to an appropriate substrate, the membrane achieves a Class B-s1, d0 fire resistance rating, surpassing the mandates of current regulations and providing essential fire protection for modular and high-rise builds.

Proshield® is already undergoing BBA certification, reinforcing Don & Low’s commitment to compliance and industry standards. It will also come with an EPD, presenting unbiased, standardised and independently verified information on the membrane’s environmental impact throughout its entire lifecycle.
