DANFLOOR UK CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSAY

Today marks 40 years of manufacturing and supplying carpets to the UK commercial carpet sector.

It was at the Harrogate Flooring Show in 1982 when Danish born EN Carpets launched a small selection of tufted carpets to the UK market. Following a very warm reception to the range of Scandinavian style carpets Director Karin Nyvang formally registered the company on the 27th of June 1983 and shortly after gathered a handful of UK agents, at an event in Thornbury, to formally launch the UK arm of the company.

In May 1985, the company underwent a re-brand and changed its name to danfloor, a brand which is now widely known throughout the commercial carpet sector and is a leading brand when it comes to healthcare carpets.

This summer welcomes celebrations for both danfloor in the UK and Denmark as it was 50 years ago in May that danfloor established its roots in Denmark. To mark the occasion all employees were invited to Kolding in Denmark to attend a celebration at Hotel Koldingfjord, a beautiful historic hotel set on the edge of the Fjord and within stunning woodland.

At danfloor UK we are now celebrating 40 years of manufacturing carpets for the UK commercial market. Over the years we have grown and evolved as a company; producing new designs, incorporating new features, and investing heavily in new tufting technology. Today we find ourselves as a market leader in the healthcare sector but still return to our original ethos of quality being at the heart of our operation.

Managing Director Ian Dexter states “It’s not just the range of products that have made us successful within the UK market, it’s our employees too. They constantly strive to deliver a quality service for all our clients. Without their input and dedication to the company, we would not be where we are today”

As part of our celebrations this year the UK team have set a target to raise £5000 over the coming year for three local charities; The Jessie May Trust, Paul’s Place and Winston’s Wish.

They have planned challenging walks, baking competitions and badminton tournaments, amongst other activities, to challenge ourselves and raise some money for the charities.
