The world in which we presently live has made us realise even more how important outside space is for our mental health and maintaining connections with others. Open balconies are featured on many developments but climatic conditions often restrict their usage. But there is a solution. The balcony enclosure, often referred to as a wintergarden or sunspace is far more versatile, resulting in greater usage and therefore of greater benefit to the resident.
Our CPD content is highly educational and concentrates on non-thermal solutions to increase usage of balcony spaces by residents. We demonstrate that while retaining the classification of outside amenity space for balconies there is a solution with robust details to provide well used spaces that also improve privacy for residents, reduce noise pollution, provide protection from the elements, exclude invasion from pigeons and at the same time it reduces maintenance costs and contributes significantly to energy efficiency and sustainability targets.
