Appointed by leading developer Oberoi Realty, this project marks a significant milestone in CAN’s regional expansion across Asia.
For Sky City Mall, CAN delivered both the interior and signage design, setting a new benchmark for premium, lifestyle-driven retail in Mumbai. Moving away from traditional, rigid mall layouts, the team created a fluid and airy environment that seamlessly blends modern luxury with human-centric design.
A New Retail Destination with Seamless Connectivity
Located in Borivali East, a thriving suburb of Western Mumbai, Sky City Mall reflects the synergy between modern infrastructure and natural surroundings. Adjacent to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the area offers residents and visitors a unique blend of urban living and serene greenery.
Situated just off the Western Express Highway and adjacent to Devipada Metro Station, the mall benefits from excellent connectivity, making it a prime retail and leisure destination in Mumbai.
An Integrated Urban Oasis and Experiential Hub
As the commercial anchor of the larger Sky City mixed-use development, which includes luxury residences and a 5-star hotel, the mall spans one basement and four above-ground levels. As a premier lifestyle destination, the mall is also home to Apple Borivali, Apple’s second official retail store in Mumbai.
Inspired by the beauty of multi-tiered gardens, the design features open spaces, lush greenery and thoughtfully designed promenades. At its heart is an expansive multi-level atrium that enhances visibility and sightlines across all five floors.
CAN’s strategic retail planning delivers a seamless, engaging shopping experience. From spacious layouts and natural light-filled atriums to intuitive wayfinding, every element is designed to enhance navigation and encourage exploration. A geometric grid skylight spans the roof, allowing daylight to filter through the central atrium.
Sky City Mall offers an inviting environment where visitors can shop, dine and unwind, adding a distinctive new retail destination to Mumbai. The project marks CAN’s debut in India and reflects the firm’s commitment to creating thoughtful spaces that respond to both cultural context and commercial needs.
