When Hilton Hotels wanted to create the patio for their £11.1m Hilton Garden Inn at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, they decided that Brett Landscaping’s GeoCeramica porcelain was the perfect product.
Working with Warrington designers The Environmental Partnership (TEP) and Manchester-based contractors HH Smith’s, Brett Landscaping was able to supply their GeoCeramica hybrid porcelain to achieve an efficient install coupled with a stunning finish.
Brett had previously worked with TEP on the prestigious St Fagan’s National History Museum in Cardiff and were called in to create the restaurant patio at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is one of the largest hotels in North Wales.
Global hotel chain Hilton Hotels has a strict process for selecting “on brand” products and they approved Brett Landscaping to supply 200m2 of GeoCeramica Impasto Noir to the spectacular 106-bed hotel located on the edge of a world-first inland surf lagoon.
GeoCeramica is a composite porcelain and concrete paving flag tile with a pre-bonded, cementitious, water-permeable drainage layer. As the system is supplied as a porcelain tile with a concrete backing it means it can be laid and walked on much more quickly.
It is installed as simply and flexibly as a concrete slab – laid on a sand and Type 1 sub-base – rather than a ridged installation (having to mortar on to a concrete base) usually associated with porcelain paving.
This allowed a faster installation so the patio could be in-use more quickly and also reduced installation costs.
Jamie Gledhill, National Specification Sales Manager at Brett Landscaping, said: “We were happy to be able to add the finishing touches to this spectacular project in a beautiful setting.
“Our GeoCeramica porcelain product is increasingly popular with specifiers and developers due to the beautiful aesthetic combined with the ability to sustain high foot traffic and the ease of installation.”
