Architecture and design conferences to look out for in 2021

As the world opens back up, networking and business events are starting to happen again. Some events are online, and others are scheduled to be in-person events as was the norm pre-pandemic. There are a number of architecture and design conferences planned for 2021, with some amazing events included.

Interior Design and Architecture Summit (London – 30 June 2021)

The Interior Design and Architecture Summit will be held in the Hilton Canary Wharf at the end of June this year. This is a meet-the-buyer event for senior suppliers, architects and designers looking to network. Despite being a one-day event, the Summit is filled with face-to-face meetings, seminars and a networking lunch. Attend this event to get inspired for the next season for design.

London Design Festival (London, 18 – 26 September 2021)

The London Design Festival will highlight the design scene and how it’s been impacted by the pandemic. This event will support the community of freelance designers and provide them with a platform to showcase their innovative work. In 2020, the Design festival curated a portal for designs to share their designs and portfolio with a virtual audience.

If you are interested in attending the festival for several days, consider booking a serviced apartment in London.

SPACE International Conference 2021 on City Planning and Urban Design (9-10 July 2021)

The third International SPACE conference will go ahead at the start of July this year. The event will explore the different elements of planning and urban design. As an international conference, they showcase a wide number of participants from around the world and recent advances within the field. The event will also explore research into all interdisciplinary areas of the industry as well, such as education, tech, business, gender studies, politics and social sciences.

Smart Buildings Show 2021 (London, 6-7 October 2021)

The Smart Buildings Show introduces visitors to the smart building industry and the technology that comes with it. This event will explore how to make smart buildings more economic for owners and tenants. It will be hosted at the ExCeL in London in early October. Smart buildings use innovative technology to connect subsystems together when they would usually operate separately. This event will give visitors an insight into what the future of smart building looks like.

UK Construction Week (Birmingham 5-7 October 2021)

UK Construction Week will take place in both London and Birmingham this year. The UK Government is currently investing a whopping £40 billion into homes and infrastructure and this will be reflected in the event. Furthermore, the construction industry will play a significant role in recovering the UK economy. This event will reveal how the construction industry will use this infrastructure investment. There will be a discussion of green homes grants and the key stakeholders’ role in the UKCW roadmap to recovery.
