Ahmarra manufactured over 100 bespoke walnut veneer and Formica laminate-faced fire doors for the UK’s oldest veterinary school, the Royal Veterinary College.
All doors were produced under the Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacturer Schemes, which ensures a fully compliant and third-party certified product.
Ahmarra secured the project with installation contractor, Avi Contracts, working for Morgan Sindall. The project featured solid American Black Walnut frames throughout including a 15 metre stretch of glazed screens.
The six-storey Hobday Building, on Royal College Street, is being developed in phases and will remain fully operational for students and staff during the refurbishment. The refurbishment programme comprises new office and teaching space, research laboratories, and dining and communal spaces for staff and students.
