Silver Arcade

‘The Silver Arcade’ is a magnificent building located at the heart of Leicester city’s retail centre. It was built in the 19th century by a famous local architect ‘Mr Amos Hall’ it first opened for business in 1899. It housed shops, offices and showrooms Hall’s vision produced a building that was original, innovative and second to none, one of two arcades in the UK that rise through 4 storey.

The building has recently undergone a £3 million full refurbishment project. Contemporary features have been skilfully blended with the original grand Victorian architecture delivering a spacious light filled retail environment. The Silver Arcade sits within the heart of Leicester City Centre, only 50 meters from the entrance of the mufti-million pound  ‘Highcross’ development, located at the intersection of Silver Street, East Gates & High Street, it sits at the entrance to The lanes a distinct and unique quarter of the city centre. With a further entrance to Cank Street The Silver Arcade forms a natural link through to Leicester’s famous open market with close proximity to the St.Martins Shopping Centre.
