The World Architecture Festival, which takes place at Arena Berlin from 16-18 November, will highlight more than 300 projects from 58 countries shortlisted for awards in 32 categories.
Sponsored by VMZINC®, the UK has the largest number of projects with nearly 50, including a Maggies’ Centre for cancer care by Foster + Partners and a treetop walkway by Glen Howells Architects. VMZINC products and systems are now at the heart of European architecture, being widely used for roofs and façades on new builds and refurbishments.
2016 will also see 49 speakers and seminars covering diverse aspects of construction as well as key themes such as the situation of displaced communities. The highlight of the Festival will be the announcement of ‘World Building of the Year’.
