Time is running out for entries to the WAN Sport in Architecture Award 2016

Architects are urged to submit their projects if they wish to be considered for a major international award for sports facilities.

The WAN Sport in Architecture Award is one of the newest categories in this year’s WAN Awards and welcomes “projects that embrace the concept of pushing limits”.

These can include stadia, sports complexes, Olympic venues, sailing pavilions, training Facilities, gymnasiums, fitness clubs, indoor swimming pools and others.

The judges will assess the projects on a number of factors including originality, innovation, form, function, sustainability and context.

A long list of around 25 projects will be selected which will be shrunk down to only six before the winner is selected.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, 29 February 2016 and you can enter the competition via the WAN website.
