Team Birmingham bigger than ever at MIPIM 2014

There is a real buzz about Birmingham at the moment. Named as the ‘FDI Destination of the Future’ by FDI Magazine and listed in the top ten ‘Best to Invest’ locations in Western Europe, interest and momentum is growing.

Birmingham’s events programme at MIPIM 2014 is bigger than ever and will showcase bold developments, with rich opportunities for capital investment, as the region looks to build on a 52% rise in inward investment projects in 2013.From the international launch of a new vibrant district in the heart of Birmingham to UK Central, one of the biggest investment opportunities in the UK, to plans to radically transform our transport infrastructure, Birmingham is thinking big – and can deliver even bigger returns.

A record number of partners are joining forces to promote Greater Birmingham, all backing the city’s drive to become a global business hub and to continue its growing success.

Partners will include Argent, Birmingham Airport, EC Harris, GVA, Invest Black Country, Jaguar Land Rover, Jones Lang La Salle, KPMG and PWC.

The £600 million renovation of Birmingham New Street Station has also beaten global competition to be shortlisted for MIPIM’s Best Urban Regeneration Project Award and the MIPIM People Choice Award, with the results announced on the 13th March 2014 at the MIPIM Award Ceremony.

From Michelin starred restaurants to street food, Birmingham is world-renowned for it’s food. Birmingyum snack boxes, put together by street food collective Brumyumyum and consisting of items from local Birmingham producers, will be available to those attending events and specially designed ‘Birmingham’ cocktails and mocktails will be available from the new and expanded bar on the stand.
