Pentair’s Thermal Building Solutions provides Raychem Underfloor Heating Systems and Pipe frost protection to the prestigious De Vere Gardens Development

Pentair’s Thermal Buildings Solutions has recently provided Phoenix Electrical with 15 Km of Raychem T2Red self-regulating floor heating cable to provide heating in apartments and lobby areas at De Vere Gardens, a development of 97 luxury apartments in the heart of Kensington. 4.5 Km of Raychem FS frost protection cable was also provided to protect exposed pipework in the basement.

Installed by Jointing Technologies, the T2Red system was specified for its self-regulating energy efficiency properties as well as its ability protecting the wooden floors from damage. The FS cable system specified for exposed pipework in the basement protects it from freezing and in turn protects the plant supplying the building with hot water and heating. In very cold conditions, thermal insulation alone cannot fully protect pipes from freezing. Harsh weather may also cause fuel lines to clog. Raychem frost protection systems safeguard water pipes, fire mains, sprinkler systems and fuel oil lines from frost in severe winter conditions.

Designed and constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine with Mechanical Consultant Hoare Lea, De Vere Gardens is Located on the site of the former Kensington Park and Kensington Palace Thistle hotels, the scheme consists of two new seven-storey buildings, both with a penthouse suite, and one five-storey block incorporating the retained façades. Fitness and leisure amenities will include a 22m lap pool and spa, family rooms and entertainment facilities.
