INSIDE – World Festival of Interiors has entered the final month of preparations before starting on 2 October at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. INSIDE brings together the most original and exciting designers in the world and sees them pitch against each other in this unique awards competition.
Nominations include the Heydar Aliyev Centre by Zaha Hadid, an apartment in Barcelona by David Kohn, WOHA’s Park Royal on Pickering which sees tropical gardens cover the outside of a Singapore skyscraper and the Google Japan Headquarters by Klein Dytham.
Other speakers at the festival will include world-renowned interior designer Nigel Coates, the revolutionary transport designer Paul Priestmann and installation designer Jason Bruges.
INSIDE organisers are working closely with the nominations, the judging panel and the Marina Bay Sands to create this exciting event, which will see 22 design professionals give speeches on their profession and have a Q+A with the audience. The event will also see the 59 nominated designers do live pitches to the judging panel as to why they should crowned the winner of 2013’s Best Interior Design.
Now in its second year, INSIDE is the sister event to the World Architecture Festival and consists of 59 nominations from 25 countries across 12 diverse categories.
Paul Finch, Programme Director of World Architectural Festival and INSIDE – World Festival of Interiors comments:
“Interior architecture and design are related but separate disciplines to mainstream architecture, and the INSIDE award and talks programme show why. From digital design to creating delight, the Festival will open up fresh ideas and demonstrate the influence of interiors on how we work, rest and play.”
INSIDE is a three-day festival from 2 – 4 October, with the overall winner announced on the 4 October at a gala awards ceremony.
