The new Q-Vent HR 400 is the latest highly energy efficient heat recovery unit from Johnson & Starley. It complies with Energy Saving Trust’s Best Practice scheme, featuring energy efficient EC fan motors, and a high efficiency counterflow heat exchanger.
The Q-Vent 400 is the ideal solution for many local authority, housing association and private residential new build or refurbishment projects. It is designed for vertical wall or loft mounting and manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001:2008. The Q-Vent HR400 is installed in a roof space or cupboard, but most of the system is hidden from view as it has been designed into the house construction.
By extracting stale moist air from rooms such as kitchens and bathroom where most moisture is generated, the air is passed across the heat exchanger to remove the remaining heat before the air is exhausted to the outside atmosphere. Fresh filtered supply air is then drawn across the heat exchanger, warmed by the retained heat and distributed through ceiling mounted grilles to ‘dry’ rooms. The Q-Vent HR400 functions continuously without wasting heat or energy unnecessarily.
For the installer the integral commissioning panel allows for easy and accurate normal running and boost fan settings.
The Q-Vent 400’s heat recovery system high efficiency counterflow heat exchanger has an up to 95% efficiency levels. Foils are formed in triangular formation so that every fresh air channel is surrounded by three exhaust air channels. This maximises the surface area over which energy can be transferred.
With its built in frost protection, accurate management of supply and extract rates, variable fan speeds for accurately setting the normal and boost settings, The QVent 400 provides all the controls required to achieve the highest energy efficient operational levels.
