Bovingdon Bricks, the only traditional brickworks in Hertfordshire, is launching a new range of decorative chimneys and bat conservation products designed to complement historic and traditional as well as modern buildings.
Inspired by the magnificent chimney stacks found on historic palaces and buildings from the Tudor Age, these new Candy Twist and Pineapple chimney designs are made using age-old processes.
Each brick shape is individually hand thrown into specially made moulds and then fired in an old-style Scotch kiln without the use of artificial colouring or pigments.
With their soft mellow colours and elaborate patterns, these ornate designs are attractive to architects wanting to reference the architecture of the past or to create a stunning design feature for modern buildings.
Bovingdon Bricks has launched new range of discreet bat boxes, ideal for conservation work. Designed specifically for the endangered Pipistrelle bat, the boxes contain several roosting chambers.
Available in various heights, they are easy to install, and can be made to match several brick types and mortars. Bovingdon Bricks is a corporate member of the Bat Conservation Trust.
Bovingdon bricks are available nationwide from a network of stockists and builders merchants.
