Goodman completes development of three industrial units at Aylesford Commercial Park, Kent

Global integrated property group, Goodman, has completed work on an 85,000 sq ft building comprising three industrial units at Aylesford Commercial Park in Kent.

The units, which were built speculatively, have now been sold to an institutional investor at practical completion.

Aylesford Commercial Park in New Hythe, Kent is situated in a prime south east location close to Junction 4 of the M20, Junction 2 of the M1 and Junctions 3 and 5 of the M25. The new, high quality units provide 23,400 sq ft to 34,800 sq ft of warehouse, industrial and distribution space and feature an innovative curved roofing solution, which delivers multiple sustainability benefits.

The build took 30 weeks and each unit has a nine metre clear height, office space, secure gated yards and an Energy Performance Certificate grade A. The sale of the speculatively developed three unit terrace on a plot of 3.96 acres represents the final transaction at Aylesford Commercial Park. It follows a pre-let deal to Kent County Council of an 112,000 sq ft state-of-the-art warehouse facility.

Charles Crossland, Managing Director, Goodman UK Logistics, said:

“We’re pleased to announce the completion and sale of these new units. Our core portfolio is primarily made up of larger warehouse units and therefore we felt this development would be an excellent sale opportunity.”

Goodman has 17 strategically-located sites across the UK, capable of delivering over 16.5 million sq ft. Each of these sites offers exceptional access to key transport hubs, including motorway interchanges, ports and airports. In 2015, Goodman will develop 1.85 million sq ft of speculative space throughout the UK across six schemes.
