Farrells win planning award for economic growth in London

At the inaugural Planning Awards, Farrells took home the award for Planning for Economic Growth for their work on the Royal Albert Dock masterplan. The practice was also highly commended in the Planning for Housing Growth category for their North West Bicester project.

Farrells Partners Peter Barbalov and Max Farrell, and Associate Debbie Cheng attended the ceremony, and were joined by North West Bicester client A2 Dominion.

Peter Barbalov, the Partner at Farrells leading the Royal Albert Dock project said:

“We are delighted to have won this award, which endorses our ambition for positive growth in Newham and East London. Since the planning application was awarded earlier this year, we have been making exciting progress on the finer details of the masterplan and the architectural design and we are looking forward to the next stages of development.”

Gary Young, Partner at Farrells leading the North West Bicester project said:

“Housing growth is one of the most important issues facing the UK at the moment, and it is fantastic to be recognised for our work designing solutions and strategies for this. There are a lot of great opportunities for development outside of London, and North West Bicester is a great example of how we can successfully integrate new and existing communities.”

The Planning Awards follow other big wins for Farrells in recent months, including the MIPIM UK Future Project Award and the Blueprint Magazine Critical Thinking Award.
