Curo to showcase Mulberry Park plans to international investors at MIPIM UK

Curo is showcasing its plans for Mulberry Park at the UK’s first major property exhibition and conference, MIPIM UK next week.

MIPIM UK, which takes place at London Olympia on 15th-17th October, brings together influential players from the UK’s property market with international investors and showcases development opportunities which are available for investment.

At Mulberry Park, Curo plans 700 new homes, community facilities and open spaces on a 47 acre brownfield site previously occupied by the Ministry of Defence. The Bath-based housing and support organisation is also developing plans for the regeneration of up to 500 existing homes neighbouring the site.

Curo’s commercial division, Curo Homes, headed up by Managing Director, Gerraint Oakley will lead the development of Mulberry Park. Curo Homes will develop high quality homes for rent, shared ownership and sale. Profits from this, and other commercial activities, will be reinvested in more affordable homes and local communities.

At MIPIM UK, Gerraint Oakley and Curo Homes’ commercial director, Ian Couzens will present plans for Mulberry Park to potential investment and development partners.

Recent figures from Savills show a sharp increase in UK-wide property investment. Overseas investors have already spent £4.5 billion outside London in 2014.

Julien Sausset, MIPIM UK Deputy Director said:

“One of the main reasons for launching MIPIM UK is to satisfy the demand from international investors for a major event in Britain, which is increasingly recognized as the property capital of the world. Not only do those investors want to explore opportunities in London – as our research partner Savills’ figures show, they want to learn about investment opportunities across the rest of the UK.”

Curo’s masterplan for Mulberry Park, developed with architects HTA Design will also feature in Architecture Tomorrow at MIPIM UK – a curated exhibition of projects that represent the future of British architecture. It was selected from over 400 entries for the prestigious exhibition.

Gerraint Oakley said:

“MIPIM UK is a great opportunity for Curo to attract investment to the region. We are excited about meeting partners who share our vision to develop much-needed new homes and invest in our communities for the long-term.”
