Craft Central announces details of Made in Clerkenwell Spring event – 18-21 May

Made in Clerkenwell is a bi-annual celebration of Craft Central resident designer makers and Network members. Held across two historic Victorian buildings, this is an opportunity for the public to go ‘behind the scenes’ and explore the studios of our renowned design community.

Louisa Pacifico, Chief Executive, Craft Central, said:

“We are extremely excited to offer visitors the chance to view new collections and prototypes by our designer makers, try out specialist crafts through Bezalel Workshops as well as learn more about the history of Clerkenwell through our guided walking tours. A particular highlight will be awarding one of our talented members £500 to develop their new collection.”

Spotlight: Award
To support our members develop new high quality collections we are offering an award for Made In Clerkenwell Spring; ‘Best body of new work’. Our winner will be announced during the show via email and social media.

Spotlight: Visitor Taster Workshops
Working with Bezalel Workshops, this year we are offering visitors the chance to sample specialist crafts, everything from weaving to calligraphy for all abilities. A full programme will be released soon with the option for visitors to pre-book on the Craft Central website.

Spotlight: Clerkenwell Walking Tours
Lansdown’s London presents “Made In Clerkenwell – The Walk”. Discover Clerkenwell’s fascinating history as a centre for crafts and manufacture and it’s contemporary creative scene with this 75 mintue walking tour led by a qualified Clerkenwell guide.

Spotlight: Newby Teas
We will be offering visitors samples from Newby Teas who produce some of the finest teas in the world, whilst they shop the show.
