Bradite brightens cycle centre

When an enthusiastic group of Suffolk mountain bikers wanted to paint and protect the interior of their newly extended workshop and headquarters, they selected Bradite’s easy-to-use ‘One Can’ quick dry coating.

Phoenix Cycleworks is owned, built and run by local riders. It provides high quality bike servicing, repairs and custom builds and offers cycling opportunities for all age ranges.

The organisation, located between Bury St Edmonds and Newmarket, was founded less than three years ago but its popularity encouraged expansion plans and a café and bike shop have now been added, housed in six former shipping containers.

In keeping with the industrial feel of the structure and reflecting the organisation’s branding, black and orange were selected for painting the interior. A local cyclist, Mark Levett, who is also paint supervisor at leading Bury St Edmunds merchants Kent Blaxill, recommended Bradite ‘One Can’ for the job.

“They asked us what we would recommend as they wanted to do the job themselves and retain the look of the place created by the shipping containers,” says Mark.

‘One Can,’ which was launched by coatings specialist Bradite last year, is the first all-purpose, water-based primer and finish product of its type. Designed for both interior and exterior use, the single pack paint is touch dry in 30 minutes, low odour, low VOC and can be used on any correctly prepared substrate.

Re-coatable after just one hour ‘One Can’ is easy to apply using either roller, brush or spray. As it can be used as both primer and finish it eliminates the need for additional primers and undercoat saving both time and cost. It is also available in a full range of BS and RAL colours, so Phoenix Cycleworks’ choice of black and bright orange was easily met.
