Aico, a market leader in domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) protection products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neal Hooper as the company’s new Commercial Director.
Neal has worked in the electrical industry for 20 years in sales and marketing roles and as a Commercial Director encompassing finance, operations and commerce for companies including Siemens, Delta, Chloride and Whitecroft. More recently, Neal was the Director at an organisation development consultancy, specialising in leadership and management development, working with major blue chip clients such as Virgin, The Cabinet Office, Nationwide Building Society, Boots, Superdry, NHS and Rolls Royce
Keen to embrace a new challenge, Neal was introduced to Aico through a senior figure in the electrical industry and liked the company’s ethos:
“Having met with Barrie Ryan (Sales and Marketing Director of Aico) and the Aico team, and then with owners Ei Electronics at their factory in Ireland, I was impressed by the great culture they have created and the values they hold; all clients are treated equally and employees are engaged and committed.
“At Ei, where the alarms are designed and manufactured, there is an obsession with product quality and the integrity of the product offering, which is genuinely refreshing.
“Aico and Ei are brand leader, yet they are still growing. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this exciting success story?”
Aico’s turnover has doubled in 6 years – Neal’s role will encompass developing further market share, launching a range of innovative new products that are due out this year, and keeping abreast of changes in legislation that are likely to drive sales of smoke and CO alarms.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics, Aico is the first name in residential fire protection in the UK. All alarms are designed and built in Europe specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations. For more information, please go to www.aico.co.uk.
