PCKO appointed on £630m Southern Housing Group’s new development framework

PCKO, an AHR company, has been appointed on Southern Housing Group’s £630m new development framework on all four architecture lots: London, East and South East, West and South West, and the Isle of Wight.

Southern Housing Group is one of the largest housing associations in the south east of England and a member of the g15, and has delivered 393 homes in 2016/17 of which 75pc were affordable. Through its new development framework Southern Housing Group aims to deliver more than 450 new homes every year until 2025, with projects ranging in size between five and 300 homes.

Southern Housing Group’s framework will primarily look to deliver flats and apartments, with a large proportion of one and two-bed homes. Shared ownership and private rent will be priority tenures; Southern Housing Group continues to be a business with social objectives and will also continue to build homes for affordable rent.

PCKO is a multi-award winning architecture and planning practice with over 35 years’ experience delivering attractive, sustainable and innovative buildings.

WaiLun Ho, director at PCKO, said:

“Southern Housing Group is a forward-thinking organisation and we are delighted to share a long-standing history with them. Our extensive portfolio is based upon our ethos of building strong, long-term client relationships, providing a high standard of service and personal commitment to fulfil and surpass our client’s aspirations for each project.

“Cameron Close, Southern Housing Group’s first-ever Passivhaus development, is a highly innovative project which PCKO previously delivered for the Group on the Isle of Wight, showcasing the possibilities of quality and sustainable design that importantly upholds longevity. We will continue to apply our diverse residential experience to support Southern Housing Group’s future vision, through the opportunities offered by this framework.”

AHR acquired social housing specialist PCKO in April 2016, further strengthening their offer to the market. PCKO has been able to reach a wider range of regions and client base through the support of AHR’s multi-service and multi-sector expertise, with services including architecture, interior design, landscape design, BIM consultancy and masterplanning covering the UK and internationally.
