London Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2017

Kaldewei bathroom solutions supplied in winning properties

St Ives, October 2017 – Kaldewei is delighted to have supplied bathroom solutions within award winning categories of the prestigious London Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2017.oka

These awards recognise excellence across the housing spectrum — from compact starter flats and flexible family homes to fantastic factory lofts and swish new mansions.

The innovative London City Island (LCI)* riverside development – dubbed “MiniManhattan” scooped the “Best Regeneration Project”. Kaldewei supplied their distinguished Puro with side overflow baths for the multi-award-winning LCI, which is a joint venture, developed by EcoWorld Ballymore, on the Leamouth Peninsula by Canary Wharf.

The unique 12-acre site, was once an industrial eyesore, is now on its way to becoming a buzzing waterside district. The development has more than 1,700 homes in vibrant-coloured apartment blocks plus boutiques, cafes, delis and restaurants, an arts club, lush gardens, an exotic outdoor swimming pool, as well as small parks and squares. The London Film School is relocating to the Island as well as the English National Ballet and English National Ballet School.

Kaldewei’s Puro with side overflow bath made from superior steel enamel has a generous interior length for ultimate comfort and comes with the option of a left or right side overflow. Kaldewei will also be providing additional Puro side overflow baths for stage 2 of the development phase.

Kaldewei has a long-standing relationship with developer Ballymore, having previously supplied baths and shower surfaces throughout their Wapping Lane, Embassy Gardens Phase 1 & 2, West Hampstead & Providence Tower schemes.

Ballymore is a developer with vast and varied experience, acknowledged as pioneers of some of Europe’s largest regeneration projects.

The London Evening Standard New Homes “Best Apartment” award was won by The Chilterns, Marylebone, W1, developed by Galliard Homes. A multi-storey car park made way for this dazzling development of 44 luxury homes, all boasting high-tech facilities and interior designs handpicked by the renowned Rabih Hage for longlasting comfort and five-star appeal, that has brought a new level of opulence to Marylebone. Inspired by The Beatles’ iconic ‘Apple Boutique’, which was located a few yards from the site until 1968, the building’s striking facade features varied vertical patterns and colours, emulating a series of records on a shelf. Within this development Kaldewei has supplied 38 Puro Duo baths, high quality and timeless designed baths with lengthy interior for two people to enjoy.

Kaldewei has also supplied a Conoduo bath and freestanding Meisterstueck Centro Duo Oval bath into the luxurious Penthouse at 190 Strand in London, by the developer St Edwards, which was awarded the London Evening Standard New Homes “Best London Home” award.

Steel enamel’s outstanding qualities make Kaldewei bathroom solutions the perfect choice for meeting the demanding standards of the housing industry because, in addition to being exceptionally durable and easy to clean, they come with a generous 30 year manufacturer’s guarantee which keeps refurbishment costs down.

*LCI was also awarded the coveted Best Development of the Year at the RESI Awards in May triumphing over nine other national shortlisted developments.
