Leading lie detector to speak at Ecobuild 2016

TED Talk presenter Pamela Meyer will deliver a lie-defying masterclass at Ecobuild, the UK’s largest show dedicated to construction and energy.

The former fraud examiner turned lying expert and entrepreneur will present an eye-opening special guest session entitled ‘Would I lie to you? How to tell when a person is lying’ on the opening day of this year’s show, Tuesday 8th March.

Topics to be covered include the surprising facts about lying, the giveaways that expose liars, and whether it is possible to conceal a lie.

Extensively trained in the use of visual cues and psychology to spot lies and liars, Meyer founded Calibrate, a Washington-based deception detection training provider in 2013. Meyer also speaks globally on how to advance from lie-spotting to truth-seeking and trust-building.

Her riveting TED Talk, How to Spot a Liar, has been viewed over eleven million times – making it one of the 20 most popular TED talks of all time, while her book, Liespotting: Proven Techniques to Detect Deception, was a bestseller. Combining her unique understanding of deception with her honed business acumen, Meyer provides audiences with lessons and takeaways that can be immediately put to use.

Martin Hurn, Event Director at Ecobuild, said:

“Pamela Meyer’s presentation promises to be incredibly entertaining, educational and beneficial to businesses, giving people useful tips on how to be better equipped to read the people they do business with, improve their negotiation skills and fine tune their interviewing techniques.”

Ecobuild 2016 is co-located with Resource, the leading resource efficiency event, from 8th to 10th March at London’s ExCeL. For more information visit http://www.ecobuild.co.uk.
