HKR Architects have lodged a detailed planning application to create a sustainable new office building in Dublin 2.
The facility will be delivered on a former post office site in Sandwith Street for Rails Investments.
The proposals include the demolition of the existing 1930s post office garage and the creation of a new 4-7 storey facility designed to achieve LEED Gold accreditation. The new development will incorporate a green roof and solar panels as well as 110,00 m² of Category A office space with cafe, meeting space, parking, public realm and landscaping.
Geoff Brocklehurst, director of HKR Architects commented:
“The proposed scheme will meet LEED Gold accreditation which means it will be resource efficient by using less water and energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The proposed building will also be in keeping with the existing residential street scene, encompassing the Georgian Dublin style.”
